Sprint each and every time you leave the batter’s
box toward first base. If a hit ball is obviously foul, stay in box. When
in doubt, sprint toward first.
Sprint out all fly balls. If you are on base with
two outs when the catch is made, sprint across the field to the dugout.
Sprint back to the dugout after a ground out.
When you are on base and the batter walks, forcing
you up a base, sprint to the next base.
After you make an out you can still help the club
by sprinting to your position or the dugout. If you show that you are down
you will bring the team down with you.
Throwing gear will never be tolerated.
The bench must have baserunners’ and hitters’
gloves, hats and sunglasses ready to send out with players after the third
out.
Sprint on and off the field for defense. Do not
ever break stride until you reach your position or the dugout.
If you are replaced as a baserunner, sprint to
the dugout.
If you are coming into the game as a relief pitcher,
sprint to the mound. If you are the pitcher being replaced, hand the ball
to the new pitcher and sprint to the dugout.
Every time your hustle is noticed, you will excite
the fans, players and coaches.
Remember that it is very difficult for the coaching
staff to keep a "SUPER HUSTLER" out of the lineup because he will always help
the team win even if he is having a bad day.
Never try to stay out of trouble by hustling barely
enough to avoid being benched. Be aggressive. Out-hustle the rest of the team.
Every player WILL be a leader. Your hustler will determine the direction of
your leadership.
At no time should a player show displeasure with
an umpire’s decision.
Game shoes and uniforms should be clean for all
games.
You are expected to be in full uniform when you
enter the park.
NO SPITTING IN THE DUGOUT, or any area where it
will not blend in.
You are expected to act as gentlemen on and off
the field during all road trips.
Normal curfew on road trips: In room by 12:00
midnight, lights out by 1:00AM and QUIET! Times may be moved up due to early
morning game times.
NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS IN ROOMS.
IT CAN BE VERY EASY TO FOCUS ON
THE INDIVIDUAL,
BUT FOCUSING ON THE TEAM IS WHAT’S
SUCCESSFUL
