All base runners should
check the strength of opponents’ arms during pre-game. Be aware of any habits
they may have.
Watch the infielders.
SS & 2B habits on

DURING THE GAME
Study the pitcher for
patterns – "One Looker"
There is no such thing
as an automatic out. Go full speed in every situation.
The on-deck hitter is
responsible for signaling the scoring baserunner. Give both hand and verbal
signals to slide or stand up.
GENERAL
The key to successful
baserunning is to THINK AHEAD – ANTICIPATE (Score, Pitcher, Outs, Arms)
Remember that every
single is a double, and every double is a triple until the defense proves
otherwise. A single is stretched into a double between home and first, not
first and second.
